Child and Teen Checkups

Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC) child health program is a benefit for children and teens from newborn through the age of 20 years who are enrolled in Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare.
The purpose of this comprehensive well child examination is:
- To identify potential health problems or handicapping conditions;
- To provide diagnosis and treatment of those health problems or conditions; and
- To encourage the development of good health habits.
C&TC exams include:
- A complete physical exam
- Hearing and vision checks
- Developmental assessment
- Health education
- Immunizations and lab tests
- Blood lead test at 12 and 24 months
- Referral to a dentist
A child is recommended to receive C&TC exams at the following ages:
- Birth – 1 month, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 months
- 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 years
