Pregnancy Test Clinic

 

The over-arching goals of the Pregnancy Test Clinic are to improve pregnancy outcomes, and to reduce unintended pregnancy; to provide information needed to enable clients to make an informed decision most compatible with their emotional, spiritual and physical well-being and beliefs.   

Appointments:

Testing services are offered by appointment only.  Call 328-7500 to schedule.  Appointments can be scheduled at the following times:
    Tuesday:  9:00, 9:30 and 10:00 a.m.    
    Wednesday: 1:00, 1:30 and 2:00 p.m.
    Thursday: 1:30, 2:00 and 2:30 

Services:

Tests are a highly-sensitive urine pregnancy test.  Results are fast and reliable.  Consultation services are provided by a public health nurse, sometimes in collaboration with the laboratory assistant and interpreter services if needed.

For Positive Test Results:

  • Provide information about good health practices in early pregnancy.
  • Advise to consult with and schedule medical appointments.
  • Assess and teach about health insurance and refer as needed.
  • Discuss Ob/GYN provider options, nutrition/WIC, additional public health nursing services.

For Negative Test Results:

  • Provide teaching, guidance, counseling on contraceptive methods and family planning.
  • Offer foam and condoms. 
  • Provide STI/HIV information related to safe sex and risk reduction.     
  • Discuss reproductive health care and area providers. 

Fees:

Testing services are offered on a sliding fee scale, determined at the time of your appointment and based on your income.  We accept cash, Medical Assistance, U-Care and Blue Plus as payment for services.  We are unable to accept private insurance.
