The Olmsted County Adult Detention Center was completed in September 1993. The Work Release Annex was completed in 2003. The facilities are operated by a Director, a Captain, three program staff, two recreation deputies, three clerical staff, two training staff, six court/transportation staff, two STS crew leaders, 60 security staff and 25 provisional part-time transport deputies. In addition, there are 55 community volunteers that provide education, counseling, library and religious services, one contracted STS crew leader, contracted food service and two contracted teachers for school services. There is a citizen based program advisory committee that meets to determine current population needs and gives citizens perspective on operations.
