Family Connections
Through referrals, social workers assist families currently receiving MFIP (Minnesota Family Investment Program) grants to achieve self-reliance by providing joint service plans that promote family stability, with a focus on child safety, and prevention from going into the child welfare system. Participants of Family Connections must have:

- At least one child age 10 years old or younger
- Have challenges with meeting financial obligations, housing transportation, child care, or parenting.

Steps To Success Program
Program encourages positive relationships between parents and their children. Healthy social and emotional child development is the prime aspect of this unique program that offer parents ongoing support with healthy pregnancy, health care, child care, housing and budgeting finances. Families who benefit from this program meet the following criteria:

- Aged 18 years or older
- Live in Olmsted County
- Have up to 3 children under 5 years old and pregnant or also have a child under 6 months old,
- Have low income, history of child abuse or neglect or limited social support.

Each family has a public health nurse and a social worker assigned.
