The Public Health Care Programs in Minnesota are Medical Assistance (MA), MinnesotaCare (MCRE), and General Assistance Medical Care (GAMC). |
Medical Assistance is a joint federal-state health care program for low-income parents, children, elderly, or disabled people including subsidized prescription drug benefits and health care coordinated benefits covered under Medicare. |
MinnesotaCare is a publicly subsidized health insurance program for lower-income state residents who do not have access to affordable health care coverage. |
General Assistance Medical Care is a state-funded program providing health care to Minnesotans, primarily childless adults, who do not qualify for MA or other state or federal health care programs. |
