| Geographic Information Systems/E911 Addressing is a highly technical division within the Rochester-Olmsted Planning Department. The division provides the following services and information:
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Develops and maintains electronic maps, parcels, redistricting and other geographical information for use by staff, other departments, the general public, cities, townships, school districts, county, state and federal agencies.
- Coordinates with other departments and agencies in the development and maintenance of electronic mapping, relational databases and geographical information.
- Provide public service to consultants, developers, general public and other agencies based upon GIS product development, maintenance and/or analysis.
E911 Addressing
- Reviews, assigns and coordinates E911 addressing, addressing related issues, and roadway naming issues within Olmsted County, including the cities of Rochester and Dover.
- Provide assistance to consultants, developers, other agencies, the general public and the cities of Byron, Chatfield, Eyota, Oronoco, Pine Island and Stewartville, based upon roadway naming and E911 addressing related issues.
