The Olmsted County Inspections Division administers the septic system ordinance through Public Health Regulation #41 and MN Rules Chapter 7080. Olmsted County regulations pertaining to septic systems are coordinated with the requirements of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
Inspection activities include, but are not limited to the review of septic systems at the time of subdivision platting, the reviewing and issuing of permits, field inspections, investigating of complaints and the maintaining of records.
All of the environmental health related ordinances of Olmsted County are administered under the Environmental Services Administrative Ordinance.
