County Planning Advisory Commission
Purpose
The purpose of the Planning Commission is to provide advice and recommendations to the Olmsted County Board on issues related to land use, transportation, zoning, public improvements, and land development.
The Planning Commission is a body of seven citizens appointed by the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners. Each member is allowed to serve two, 3 year terms. The Olmsted County Board tries to select individuals from different parts of Olmsted County so that a good variety of views are represented on the Commission. This Board meets at 7:30 PM on the first and third Thursday of every month.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Planning Advisory Commission is to implement the various Land Use controls in a manner which is consistent with and will further the goals of the land use policies adopted by the County Board.

Conduct of Open Forum
- Forum limited to 15 minutes - 2 minutes per speaker
- No comments on matters considered elsewhere in the agenda or tabled, in litigation, or in negotiation
- Debate and discussion limited to how and when to respond to questions, whether by staff at the time or in writing or as an agenda item at a future meeting.
