Fix Up Fund
The OCHRA in partnership with Minnesota Housing Finance Agency (MHFA) can provide low interest loans to improve homes. These loans can be used to hire a contractor or the work can be completed by the owner.
The maximum loan amount is $25,000 with a below market fixed interest rate. There is no down payment required and no prepayment penalty.
Electrical wiring, a new roof, room additions, a garage, septic repairs are just some of the possibilities. Most improvements to the livability, accessibility, or energy efficiency of a home are eligible.
Ineligible improvements include: fireplaces, swimming pools and other recreational or entertainment facilities. Mobile homes are not eligible to receive home improvement financing unless they are on a permanent foundation and taxed as real property.
Funds are available throughout the year.
