Inmate Accounts
The Olmsted County Adult Detention Center uses Turnkey systems for detainee accounts.
Deposits to these accounts can be made two ways:
- During normal business hours deposit cash at any Turnkey Kiosk. Olmsted County has two of them. One is located in the lobby of the Work Release Facility and one is located in the Adult Detention Center lobby.
-
Mail
Send all correspondence addressed to:
Detainee Name
OCADC

Rochester, MN 55904
- All incoming mail will be searched for contraband, money, etc. All money orders, certified cashier’s checks, and cash will be added to the detainees account or property. Third party and personal checks will NOT be accepted and will be placed in the detainee’s property or marked “return to sender” and mailed back to the return address recipient.
- Mail that appears to have odor enhancements, fluids, or stickers will be returned to the sender.
- The Adult Detention Center will not accept packages, newspapers, books or magazines sent to detainees. We will also not accept any mail with magazine articles, photocopies, blank paper, envelopes, stamps, obscene or gang related material inside. Any of the above items sent to a detainee will be returned to sender or sent to the detainee’s property.
- Photos are accepted as long as they are appropriate, are not Polaroid, and do not have gang signs of any kind.
Detainees Sending Mail:
Detainees are allowed to purchase and send out an unlimited amount of letters to correspond with you. These can be purchased through our vending services if they have money on their account. If a detainee is indigent they may receive two post cards per week for correspondence.

Inmate Friends and Family Support Options:
Posting Bail
Olmsted County Accepts Bail 24 hours a day.
To post bail during business hours 8:00 am - 5:00 pm:
Go to the Clerk of Courts office on the 5th floor of the Government Center. Tell the attendant you want to post bail for a detainee in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center.
- Bail for detainees held in other counties must be posted at the Adult Detention Center’s reception desk.
To post bail during non-business hours:
- Go to the Adult Detention Center door in the circle drive of the Government Center. Enter the vestibule and pick up the telephone receiver located on the wall. A Deputy will be available to answer your questions and collect the bail amount needed for the individual’s release. The Adult Detention Center cannot make change, so an exact amount of cash is needed for the bail.
- Olmsted County also accepts bonds from bail bondsman approved by the 3rd Judicial District of Minnesota. To reach a bondsman, please check your local telephone book and make arrangements with them prior to arriving at the Adult Detention Center lobby.
- Bail may also be posted for detainees being held in other Minnesota counties by following the same process in step number one.
