Fingerprinting

We are located in the Government Center's main building, on the first floor, within the Adult Detention Center on 101 4 St SE.  Metered parking is available..

Public fingerprinting is done at the ADC by appointment, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 3:30 pm. Please call 507-328-6791 between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm to schedule the appointment.

Please note the following is needed for fingerprinting:

• There is a $10.00 fee per card, and one card does a complete set of fingerprints; we can provide cards if needed at no extra cost.
• We accept cash or check only. If paying by cash, we ask you to bring exact amount as change is not always available. If paying by check, the check is made payable to “ADC” and receipts are provided.
• A valid, government issued photo ID is required to confirm your identity (drivers license, passport or other government entity issued ID accepted).
• Please do not fill out any information on the card prior to arrival at your appointment, and DO NOT sign the card. This will be done during the fingerprinting process, and your signature must be witnessed by us.
• The fingerprinting process normally only takes about 10-15 minutes, per person. There is sometimes a delay due to unforeseen events. We do our best to keep your wait time to a minimum and will attempt keep you informed of how long the wait might be.
• Fingerprinting is digital (inkless). This is the preferred method, however, double check with whomever is requiring you to be fingerprinted to see if they will accept the digital form. Some agencies only accept inked fingerprints. If this is the case, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office is the closest location from Rochester in which to obtain these. They are located in Mantorville, MN and can be reached at 507-635-6200.
