The Annual Public Health Awards honor individuals, groups and agencies for their exceptional contributions to improving the health of individuals, families and communities in Olmsted County. Each play a critical role in making Olmsted County a healthier place to live, learn, work and play. The 2017 Award Recipients were Dr. Melanie Brennan, CEO of ExerciseABILITIES, and the Early Head Start Program.

Public Health Champion Award (nominated by a community member): Recognizes, honors and thanks individuals whose service and activities have improved and strengthened the lives of our residents and visitors. Nominations are submitted through a variety of sources, including family, friends, neighbors and organizations. Nominations are accepted until March 1, 2018. Outstanding Partnership Award (nominated by Olmsted County Public Health staff): Recognizes and acknowledges an individual, workgroup or agency that has made significant contributions through dedicated partnership with OCPHS and helped us meet our department goals.
The Public Health Champion Award is open to individuals, groups and programs contributing to the health of Olmsted County residents. The nominee
does not have to be a resident of Olmsted County but the contributions must benefit county residents. Religious, fraternal, business or professional groups that provide services
only to their members are not eligible. Current members of the selection committee, the Public Health Services Advisory Board, Olmsted County Public Health Services staff, Olmsted County Board of Commissioners, or their families cannot be nominated. Past board members and former public health employees are eligible.
