Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC) child health program is a benefit for children and teens from newborn through the age of 20 years who are enrolled in Medical Assistance.

Why are C&TC checkups important?

  • Regular checkups help keep children, teens and young adults healthy 
  • Health and dental problems can be found and treated early
  • Parents and children can get information about healthy lifetyles
  • Children can get regular checkups at the dentist 

 C&TC  exams include:

  • A complete head-to-toe physical exam
  • Hearing and vision checks
  • Checks on development and growth
  • Health education
  • Immunizations and lab tests
  • Blood lead test at 12 and 24 months
  • Referral to a dentist

How often should I take my child for a checkup?

  • Birth – 1 month, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18 months 
  • 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 years
  • more often if needed
