2020 Flu Shots Available through     
Public Health in October 

Olmsted County Public Health is not administering flu shots at this time. Individuals interested in obtaining a flu shot prior to October, can inquire with local retail providers and pharmacies. Local health care clinics will not be administering flu shots until the middle of Septembr or early October, 2020.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, it is extremely important that everyone who can be vaccinated, get vaccinated. Public Health is making adjustments to our processes, so we can provide flu shots efficiently and effectively in the safest manner possible. 

Flu shots are covered by Medicare and Medical Assistance. Please call (507)328-7500 if you have specific questions.  

Influenza is a serious disease that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes even death. Every flu season is different, and influenza infection can affect people differently. Even healthy people can get very sick from the flu and spread it to others. The “seasonal flu season” in the United States can begin as early as October and last as late as May.
