The Olmsted County Juvenile Detention Center holds the safety of our community, staff and residents to be our highest priority.

The Olmsted County Juvenile Detention Center serves youth (age 10-21) who have been ordered by the Court, detained by Law Enforcement, or placed by probation officers.

  • Photo ID must be presented at time of visit
  • All visits are monitored

Monday-Friday 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM Saturday 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Fingerprints/DNA/Book and Release

Appointments can be made at the JDC to have the following services completed for youth on Juvenile Probation or court ordered:

  • Fingerprints 
  • DNA Collection
  • Book and Release Intake

All youth must present photo ID and court order at time of appointment.

​Prison Rape Elimination Act (P.R.E.A.)

The Olmsted County Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) has a zero tolerance policy regarding sexual abuse and harassment. If you are aware of any resident that is experiencing or has experienced sexual abuse or harassment, please use any of the following methods to report:

  1. Contact the Director during business hours at 507 328-6694.
  2. Contact the on-duty supervisor any time at 507 328-6699.
  3. Contact law enforcement dispatch any time at 507 328-6800.
  4. Contact Olmsted County Victim Services crisis line any time at 507 289-0636.

The JDC has trained investigators that will respond to every allegation of sexual abuse or sexual harassment. In the event that it appears there may be criminal actions, the JDC will refer a case to the Rochester Police Department.

The Rochester Police Department participates in the Olmsted County Sexual Assault Interagency Council (SAIC). The SAIC is a multi-disciplinary group formed to develop a victim-centered, culturally competent response to sexual assaults reported in Rochester and Olmsted County. 

It is the policy of the Police Department to work in collaboration with other SAIC agencies to provide an appropriate law enforcement response to victims of sexual assault.
