Waste haulers must be licensed to operate in Olmsted County. If you currently hire a hauler to pick up and haul wastes from your property within the boundaries of Olmsted County and they are not listed above, please call 507 328-7070 immediately.
Garbage haulers in Olmsted County offer collection services with volume-based fees (meaning the more you throw away, the more you pay). You can reduce your waste and save resources by reusing and recycling. All haulers are required to offer recycling collection services to their customers.
All garbage haulers are also required to collect an Environmental Service Charge from their customers to help fund Olmsted County environmental education and waste abatement activities.

The Olmsted County Recycling Center Plus offers a one-stop service to individuals who prefer to transport their own garbage and recyclables.
The facility is located at 305 Silver Creek Road NE in Rochester and is open 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday-Saturday (except for holiday closings).
The following recyclable materials are accepted free of charge but must be pre-sorted:
Items commonly accepted for a fee (160 KB) at the Recycling Center Plus include, but are not limited to:
* “Incidental” quantities of tires (8 or fewer per load) will be directed to the Olmsted County Recycling Center Plus (OCRC) for appropriate disposal. Larger quantities (9 or more per load) will be directed to the Kalmar Landfill; call 507 328-7070 in advance.
