Flood Insurance Rate Maps and Flood Insurance Study

​​The City of Rochester/Olmsted County (choose depending on city or county website) received notice in October of the publication of the new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS).  The Planning Department received the pending floodplain maps in early December.  The effective date for the FIRM and FIS is April 19, 2017.  During the intervening time, the maps are available from the department and also the Federal Emergency Management Agency.  These pending maps and associated data are for review and guidance purposes only and cannot be used to rate flood insurance policies.  The pending data is subject to change

Questions about the maps, FIS or adoption process for the pending data can be made to the Planning Department, or if located in a small city, the city clerk's office.
