Olmsted County Welcomes New Public Health Director

Olmsted County is proud to announce that Graham Briggs has been selected as the Director of Public Health Services. Graham has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota as well as a Master of Science (MS) in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University.

During his 16 years of experience working in Public Health, Graham has spent time as a scientist and epidemiologist in both state and county public health in Arizona, including the last eleven years in management. A passion for the community and its health as well as experience in data management, strategic planning and emergency response provide a strong background for Graham as he steps into this role.

In his most recent position, Graham served as the Manager for Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology at the Pinal County Public Health Services District in Arizona. In this capacity he oversaw surveillance, prevention, and response to threats in the community including infectious diseases, heat related illness, and drug use/abuse.

Graham is originally from Minnesota and graduated from high school in Woodbury. In his free time, he enjoys watching Twins baseball, biking, and amateur astronomy. He will be relocating with his wife and two daughters to Rochester from Gilbert, Arizona.

Graham will start his new role on June 11, 2018.
