On September 22, 2020, the City of Rochester issued a press release which announced artists selected to create permanent outdoor painted murals in Rochester this fall. Olmsted County is excited to be the recipient of two of these murals.

Graham Park mural: A mural will be painted on the Graham Park Beer Garden restroom building. This building is adjacent to the new Rochester Farmers Market location. The muralist for this location is longtime local artist, Susan Waughtal.

330 Shop (301 3rd St. SE): Currently, this building – co-owned by Olmsted County and the City of Rochester – contains a mural for the Rochester Farmers Market; however, since the farmers market has moved, a new mural was needed. The artist selected to create a new mural for this location is Olmsted County artist, Z Derreck Zirbes.

This initiative, through which the City of Rochester is partnering with RNeighbors, was designed to help create job opportunities for local artists who are not fully employed due to the pandemic
