Project Design Completed Construction Contract Awarded
Project design is complete and Hoffman Construction has been awarded the construction contract with a low bid of $32,799,805. Construction will begin in the Fall of 2015 and is anticipated to be completed in the Fall of 2017.
The Olmsted County Board has issued a Negative Declaration regarding the need to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for the 55th Street Extension and Broadway Avenue North Reconstruction Project. The Findings of Fact and Conclusions document, and responses to comments received, are posted
here. This concludes the state environmental review process for the project.
A complete preliminary design layout, commonly referred to as the 60% project design, is available for review. This state of project design forms the basis for completion of the final design, expected in the spring of 2015.

Public Hearing to be held November 12th
Olmsted County has released an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for the 55th Street Extension and Broadway Avenue North Reconstruction project. The project will extend 55th Street North from West River Rd NW to intersect with Broadway Avenue NE at 48th Street NE. The project will also include the reconstruction of Broadway Avenue NE to a four-lane roadway from the new 55th Street Extension south to 41st St NE.
A public open house to review and comment on the EAW has been scheduled for Wednesday November 12, 2014 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at John Adams Middle School, 1525 31st Street NW, Rochester, MN. Verbal and written comments will be accepted.
Copies of the EAW will be available by October 27, 2014 at the Olmsted County Planning Department, Rochester Public Library, and online
