Mission

The mission of Olmsted County Parks is to foster an appreciation of the natural world through environmental education, natural resource management, and public participation in the stewardship of our park lands.

All County Parks buildings and offices are currently closed until further notice, including the Oxbow Park Nature Center. All classes and education programs have been cancelled till further notice.

As construction continues to clear trees for the new road entrance to Oxbow Park, the Yeager Trail and Nature Trail are closed until further notice. Other Trails are open for use. Please practice social distancing while using the trails. Dogs are only allowed on a leash in the designated leashed areas.

Oxbow Park Hours: 5am to 10pm Daily

Zollman Zoo Hours: 10am to 4pm Daily

*The Oxbow Park Nature Center will not be open, so restrooms in the building will not be open for use. Restrooms will be open in Oxbow Park picnic areas. Physical distancing is a high priority for all zoo visitors and masks are recommended to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to both humans and the wildcats which are susceptible to the virus.


Oxbow Park offers almost any outdoor enthusiast a chance to pursue his or her favorite activity: hiking, camping, fishing, picnics. Park facilities include hiking trails, campground, four picnic areas, each with a covered shelter. One of the areas also has playground equipment, and a ball field is maintained during the summer for public use. Oxbow campground in a semi-primitive area has 30 campsites available, running water, restrooms, and showers. These facilities in connection with the nature center and Zollman Zoo, offer any visitor a number of ways to enjoy leisure time outdoors.

Are mobility issues keeping you from enjoying Oxbow Park?  We have a trac chair available for check out if you have mobility issues.  This would allow you to enjoy Oxbow Park and all it has to offer.  Please call the park to reserve.
