Surveying

The Olmsted County Surveying Division provides professional surveying services for the Public Works Department and all other county agencies.

We recover and maintain the PLSS (Public Land Survey System) corners. Horizontal control, aerial photography, and surveying record maintenance are also provided.

Fees:

Plat checking fees for all subdivision plats, Registered Land Surveys (RLS), and Common Interest Community (CIC) plats are as follows:

$300.00 per plat plus an additional $25.00 for each lot/unit or outlot.

22" by 34" hardcopies of these images can be purchased at Olmsted County Public Works - 1188 50th Street SE for $5.00.

Purchase Aerial Photos

Electronic Photography is in .tif file format. Each file is approx. 30 megs in size and represents a section of land (approx. 1 sq. mile). 1 pixel represents approx. 1' of ground cover.

For areas within the City Limits of Rochester, please contact the Rochester Public Works Department to obtain these images.

For areas outside of the Rochester City Limits, please contact The GIS Division of the Rochester/Olmsted Planning Department.

Hard copy prints of Aerial Photography are available from the Surveying and Mapping Division for the following years: 1985, 1996

In 1999 the first Electronic Photography of Olmsted County was purchased and is available for $13.00 per image and $13.00 per CD used.
